Project Environmental Professional (Denver, CO) [PEP-DEN]


Job Description: Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants has an immediate opening for a Project Environmental Professional to join our environmental branch in Denver, Colorado. We are currently seeking a professional to conduct due diligence - Phase I, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, groundwater sampling, field oversight, and asbestos/lead paint surveys. Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will independently manage small and medium size projects. May serve as project manager and help train and mentor junior level staff. Will assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects. Will assist with development of proposals for small and large projects. Will attend on and offsite client meetings, effectively communicates with clients and regulators. May provide technical guidance and/or oversee work performed by lower-level staff. Will implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test, and collect data or conducts on-site activities. Will evaluate laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.

Education: B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering or related field and appropriate related professional registration/certification. An advanced degree is a plus.

Certification: Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training required. Other certifications and registrations such as Colorado-Certified Asbestos Building Inspector, Air Monitoring Specialist and/or Project Designer a plus but not required.

Required skills: Minimum 5 years conducting Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and most other duties listed above.

Preferred Skills: The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the environmental field with a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Familiarity with regulatory programs such as VCUP and/or Brownfields is a plus. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, be a team player with strong communication skills and work ethic. Prior work history with a consulting firm preferred.

Location: Denver, CO

Salary range: $70,000-85,000 depending on experience and certifications
