UDOT Presentation on Seismic Refraction by Eric Elison, PE
Exploring New Depths: Eric Elison, PE, Presents on Seismic Refraction for Transportation Projects
Eric Elison, PE, Principal Engineer at Ninyo & Moore, will present “Using Seismic Refraction to Infer Subsurface Soil and Bedrock Characteristics” at the 2024 Utah Transportation Conference. In Session #7, scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Room 300A, Mr. Elison will explore the cost-effective, non-intrusive applications of seismic refraction technology in construction. This session provides valuable insights into how this method evaluates compression wave (p-wave) velocity profiles to assess bedrock depth and rippability, making it ideal for large-scale, challenging infrastructure projects.
