Hyperloop Development Loop, Propulsion Open Air Track, and Base Site
Hyperloop is a high-speed transportation system, which utilizes pressurized transport capsules that ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction motors and air compressors. This transit system is expected to travel at speeds of up to 760 mph.
Project Highlights:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geotechnical Observation, Testing, and Inspection
- High-Speed Transportation System
Ninyo & Moore performed geotechnical evaluations and construction materials testing and special inspection services for the Hyperloop Development Loop (DevLoop), Propulsion Open Air Track (POAT), Base Site, access road and embankment projects, which included several buildings (100,000 square feet total) located at Apex Industrial Park. The DevLoop project included 1,800 linear feet of raised 12-foot diameter pipe supported by columns founded on drilled shafts, and the POAT project included 5,000 linear feet of track consisting of structural concrete slabs founded on drilled shafts, 5,000 linear feet of POAT supported by structural concrete slabs founded on an embankment up to 6 feet above existing grade and 15-feet-wide at the top. The project also included a NV Energy substation with its associated structures, concrete flatwork and parking and access/roadway areas.
