Careers: A Great Place to Work

Ninyo & Moore is made up of a diverse team of individuals that each bring a unique perspective to the company. From receptionist to Principal, continued professional growth and training are encouraged throughout the firm.

Training and Continuing Education of Professional Staff

Ninyo & Moore staff level employees participate in a quality training program that includes participation in periodic outside technical training seminars and through direct feedback from technical and editorial reviewers of staff written product. All employees participate in monthly health and safety discussions, which are solicited from staff and are selected by a corporate health and safety committee. Quality training, and health and safety programs are routinely reviewed and updated through quarterly committee meetings.

Ninyo & Moore field technicians attend monthly training and safety seminars hosted by Principal Engineers. Additionally, they are encouraged to participate in continuing education professional certification programs. Ninyo & Moore key personnel have earned numerous professional registrations and certifications to further enhance their careers. Ninyo & Moore professional staff further augment their technical capabilities by attending formal classes offered by colleges and universities, as well as attending continuing education seminars, workshops, and short courses offered by professional societies. Many employees take advantage of Ninyo & Moore’s education reimbursement policies by pursuing degree programs. Ninyo & Moore project personnel also attend monthly meetings of professional societies, as well as present technical papers and publications at professional society conferences.

In addition, the firm holds monthly lunch meetings geared to a specific topic for all technical employees. The goal of these training sessions is to aid in the continuing education of each employee relative to new and/or ongoing issues within our industry.

Mentorship

Ninyo & Moore strongly believes in the mentoring and guidance of young professionals just starting on their career path. Many of these staff work closely with Senior Principals in their specific discipline to learn what cannot be taught from a textbook. These highly experienced professionals take the extra time and care to educate our young engineers, geologists and environmental scientists so that they can one day be the mentors. Additionally, Ninyo & Moore annually bestows an Achievement award in honor of one of our late geotechnical engineers who was a great inspiration and mentor to the technical staff. This award is given to a Ninyo & Moore professional who demonstrates this same ideal of mentorship.

Professionals with differing backgrounds and perspectives leads to enhanced brainstorming and greater innovation, which results in better service for our clients.
